Update for Rufus

Greetings, Rufus fans!

First and foremost, I want to say a big tiger-striped furry welcome to my new sponsors! My correspondent told me that, since my roomie Wolfie found his forever home, his sponsors are now sponsoring me. Welcome to my little world O’Rufus, and thank you for everything you are doing to support me!

If I haven’t met you yet, I am sure we will be fast friends. Especially if you live near enough to Tabby’s Place to come visit me. In case you don’t know yet, I love visitors! I will walk in circles around your legs and brush my whole body against you to show you how happy I am to see you.

The two pictures I am attaching to this month’s update show my joy when humans come into the solarium to say hello. One picture shows me looking up at my correspondent with love, and please know that I am sending all of that love right through the camera to you, too! The other picture shows me waiting impatiently by the solarium door for other humans to come in.

Even when I have visitors, I just want more visitors! It is getting toastier and toastier out in the solarium, and I can feel summer quickly approaching. Things have been heating up inside suite FIV as well, and alas, fighting among me and my roomies has continued to escalate. I wish I could say that I had absolutely nothing to do with it, but that would be a lie. I could never lie to you! You are my best friends in the whole entire world, and I have to be honest.

As I always say, I may not be the cat I want to be, but I’m a better cat than I used to be. Little by little, I am trying to learn how to manage my temper. I promise! I know how lucky I am to be living here at Tabby’s Place, and I hope you know how much I appreciate everything you are doing for me. I still dream about finding a forever home of my own, and I do believe that my human soulmate is out there somewhere. But in the meantime, I need to find ways to get some personal space when I get frustrated with my roomies.

One of the other cats I live with, Arlo, recently got rather nasty bite wounds on his hind end. I know that I am a prime suspect, and I can’t say I am surprised. We definitely all get into scuffles, and I get so mad sometimes, it is possible that I bit Arlo. I know it is a terrible thing to do, no matter what he did to aggravate me, and I wish I knew how to just let things go.

Can cats learn to meditate? Perhaps I need to find new ways to de-stress myself so I don’t lose my temper. My dear sponsors, if you have any ideas, please come visit and share them with me. All the humans here have been trying different ways to keep us all out of each other’s way. They are doing everything in their power to restore peace to our suite so no one else gets hurt.

I also want to report that I had a healthy month, and I am so unimaginably grateful. I see what some of the other cats here are going through, and I know how lucky I am. All because of you! Thank you! I’ll write again soon.

Love, Rufus
(with help from your correspondent, Florie)
