Update for Rufus

Hello sponsors!

Can you believe it is April already? Time is flying, and this is already my third update! I hope you are enjoying my news, and I hope you know how much you mean to me. Your sponsorship is what gives me the best possible care I could ever get. Of course I am still hopeful that I will find a forever home one day, but I am so very happy at Tabby’s Place these days. Everyone here is just so nice!

They all make sure I have yummy food to eat, comfy beds to snooze in, any medical care I might need, and best of all, they give me more love and attention than I have ever had in my entire life! So please know that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to take care of me. So as you know, I am not the only one in Suite FIV with a big personality and a bit of a temper. The scuffles have continued a bit between myself and my suitemates—Knickers and Lester in particularly. But thanks to a scientific shifting of housing within our suite, things are slowly calming down.

It has kind of been an elaborate game of musical chairs, except this game includes crates and separate rooms when needed. The humans have developed a careful system that is working quite well to keep us out of each other’s face, which prevents our tempers from flaring. None of us wants to fight with each other, it’s just tough for us to share turf sometimes. I know I always want to be in charge, and I think Knickers and Lester may feel that same way.

We don’t always see eye to eye, but we are working on it. I have been learning so many new things about how to control my temper, and I know the humans here are trying their hardest to find me a forever home where I can be the only cat. They think that is where I would be the happiest, and I agree. I just need my own space to feel calm and secure. Are you like that too, or do you know another kitty like me?

It really helps that all of my new friends here keep telling me that they love me and that I will always be a Tabby’s Place cat, no matter what. I never thought I would ever be so lucky! I know I still have the reputation of being one of the main rough-housers here, but I am working on it, I promise.

And my best news:  one of my suitemates, Wolfie, a long-time resident of Tabby’s Place, finally found his forever home. So there is hope for all of us!

But in the meantime, I am attaching two pictures to this month’s update for your entertainment. One is of me skulking around the crate where my neighbor Knickers is taking a time-out for not-so-perfect behavior. Sometimes I just can’t help myself, and I go looking for trouble! But my other picture shows you my innocent side, and hopefully, you can see the love I am sending you in my eyes. Enjoy your month, and I will update you again soon!

Love, Rufus
