Update for Princess Bubblegum

Greetings Princess Bubblegum Sponsors!

I hope everyone is staying warm. We are getting into the thick of winter here in New Jersey.

Princess Bubblegum continues to do well. She had her regular 6-month check up. Her weight is still at 9 pounds. Her bloodwork was good. Her kidney values are a little lower, except for her phosphorus. We used to add a phosphate binder into her food called aluminum hydroxide. The goal of using this tasteless powder is to bind to the phosphorus in the food, relieving pressure from the kidneys.

We were giving Princess Bubblegum aluminum hydroxide with her food every day, but she had become a bit picky. I had stopped adding the supplement a few months ago, hoping it would help. It did seem to help with her fussiness, but now that her phosphorus levels are creeping up, we need to resume the aluminum hydroxide. So far, so good!

The Princess did get a little matted on her belly recently. She is normally a good groomer, but every once in a while, she needs some help. Thankfully, she lets me brush her. I just cannot do so for more than 5 minutes at a time. That is her limit. I can do what I want, as long as I listen to the Princess.

My blind dog, Marcy (pictured above), still thinks that Princess Bubblegum is her best friend and tries to play with her. PBG tolerates her. She mostly hits Marcy, but not with her claws. PBG puts up with Marcy in order to hang out in the kitchen, which is her new favorite spot.

Thank you for sponsoring this sweet girl! She is doing amazing! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
