Update for Pixie

Update for Pixie

Greetings, Pixie fans! Ready for another update on our orange love bug?

All has been well medically in the World of Pixie over the past few weeks, and long may it last. Our girl has her window box back, too, ensuring a good mood on sunny mornings when she basks alternately in sunshine and human affection.

You’ll recall that we were fortunate enough to have a couple of strollers donated. We keep a stroller log, where people sign in and out when they take cats for rides in a stroller (this helps us to make sure no cat is spending too much time out in the hot sun on any particular day). Lately, however, we’ve been thinking of renaming the log after Pix, since her stroller rides outnumber those of any other cat almost by an order of magnitude! It’s easy to see how much our orange girl loves her stroller jaunts, but really, we’re not sure who enjoys them more, Pixie or the many volunteers who take her out. It’s not uncommon to see a volunteer acting like a proud parent when he or she is pushing Miss Pix in her perambulator.

Just recently, Tabby’s Place held a class in TNR (trap, neuter, release) for people interested in helping feral colonies. Many of our Community Room residents did not appreciate having a couple dozen people in their space for several hours, but Pix was perfectly at home. I found a few attendees cooing over her after the meeting and giving her all the attention any feline could want.

We remain hopeful that the right person or family for Pixie will come through our doors in the not-too-distant future. Until that happens, thank you for your generosity in helping us keep our girl happy.
