Fabulous Fuzzy February Greetings, my faithful friend and sponsor!
Boy oh boy, am I glad January is over! I will admit, January is not my favorite month. After all the hubbub and holiday hoopla of December, January is really a bit of a letdown, with days that are rather quiet and downright boring. But not to fear, we find ways to have a little fun and spice up life in the Lobby, so stay with me for the latest!

Before I fill you in on the fun, I will update you on she who matters most around here–ME, Queen of the Lobby! I have had a few ups and downs this month, but all-in-all, I am doing wonderfully and continue to be my feisty and beautiful self! I still receive the magic lactulose liquid, which has really (and I do mean REALLY!) helped with that horrid constipation I experienced. It helped so well that things went just a bit to the other extreme (my staff uses the word diarrhea to describe this other extreme). But not to fear, they keep fine-tuning my dosage and the end result is a very happy and well-regulated Olive, Queen of the Lobby!
Quiet little Ringoes, NJ has faced a little bit of snowy weather this past month, which can be fun to watch as it sprinkles down from the sky. Unfortunately, when it snows we do feel a bit of a chill through the Lobby, with the doors opening and closing with visitors. Sadly, our staff denied our requests for snowball fights and to make snow kitties. I think they were afraid of the mess we would make and all the extra hours and work for whoever faced the cleanup duty.

January did find us enjoying a few fun dates on the Cat Calendar, which I have been excitedly looking forward to sharing with you!
January 22nd was definitely an all-time feline favorite day (ummmm, maybe not so much the staff’s favorite). On National Answer Your Cat’s Question Day, we sure bombarded the staff with all kinds of questions, all day long! “If you could switch places with me for a day, what would you do?” and “If you could be any kitty, who would you be?” were met with a lot of interesting and funny answers! “Why can’t we have more treats in the lobby?” was met with “For the same reason I can’t eat ice cream and cookies all day, every day.” When I asked Jonathan: “What are the weirdest and strangest things you have ever done?” the answer was “Now Olive, that is definitely not something I am going to share ….” (and followed by a hearty laugh!) It was a fun day and boy did we learn a lot about our staff and their lives! Sorry, but we were sworn to secrecy on some of their answers!

And, January 29th was one of my favorites–Tuxedo Cat Appreciation Day! Need I say more? It was the perfect day for the staff to honor my unique personality and my striking black and white tuxedo coat. We tuxedo cats are known for being socially outgoing, affectionate, exceptionally smart, as well as relaxed. Yes, that does sum me up! But in my case, just a little feisty and sassy, too. There was some murmuring amongst the staff about giving equal attention to Tux, Uni, Mr. Man, Poppa Lay, and well I can’t even remember who else. It is bad enough I have to share the treats, now they want me to share the special attention, too? While I am apparently not the only beautiful tuxedo cat in Tabby’s Place, I can assure you I am the most fabulous—that is without a doubt!
Oh, did you hear the news that my bestie, Boobalah, has proposed the idea of a Lobby Luau? At first, I was not so sure about this idea….. just sounded a little too out there for me. But the more I think about it, the more I think it is a great idea! What better way to chase away that cold chill and our dreary winter blues than with a tropical party? I graciously offered to Boo that I would take over the party planning because, if were are going to do this, we should do it up right! Of course, there will need to be Hawaiian barbeque and pina coladas. I will don a grass skirt over my very best bikini (though I draw the line at Hawaiian print diaper—I will leave that for Boo!). This will be some special event, I promise you that!

And speaking of events, I would like to extend a personal invitation to you to join me at our “Your Feline Valentine” event today (February 15th). The first hour, 12-1pm, is reserved for beloved sponsors like you! We will open to the public from 1 pm to 4 pm, so folks can meet all of our sponsorable kitties, and maybe decide to sponsor one (or more!). I really do hope you can join me, either in person or in heartfelt spirit, so that I can share my extra special Valentine Love and gratitude with you.
Your devotion to me, your generosity, and your love are felt all year long. My deepest appreciation is sent, along with all my love, especially to you. And not just today, but every single day of the year. I am so very grateful for you! ♥
With heartfelt love, until next month,
Queen Olive
