Outstanding October Greetings!
Hello there, and happy fall, my sweet sponsor and darling friend. I’m just so happy when I feel the cooler air moving into the Tabby’s Place lobby. I am starting to see the leaves change from green to fiery red, yellow, and orange—quite a sight to see! And when I see them start floating down from the sky, I just know that my favorite time of year is here! Fall provides so much fun and excitement, which of course I am excited to share with you.
But, first and foremost, let’s talk about Me!
I have been my usual iron-pawed ruler and Queen of the Tabby’s Place lobby this month. I do still pick at my fur a bit, so that continues to be discussed among the veterinary team. They also put me on medication that they said might help with any “osteoarthritis.”
When I told my correspondent this, so she could share with you, she chuckled and muttered, “Welcome to the golden years, Miss Olive.” Whatever that means…
Most of the time, I feel just dandy and feisty, though occasionally I do toss up a little “gift” on the lobby floor. If they fed me more treats and less blah cat food, that might not happen. Not that everyone agrees with my logic on that!

Meanwhile, there have been so many happenings this past month, and a few of them were marvelously monumental!
The first was the successful conclusion of our annual Linda Fund Matching Challenge. We are all so grateful to the many special and generous donors all over the world—and we are so excited that we met our goal this year. This will provide for all the cats who need emergency, intensive, and specialty care over the year ahead. Our Linda Fund again exceeded prior years’ goals, and we cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are.
And yes, I have been asking where my 500,000 squeeze-up treats are, only to be told that is not the purpose of this fund.
They keep explaining that this emergency fund is a way to help in dire situations when time and care are critical. Well, squeeze-ups aside, on behalf of our 2026 Spokeskitty, Dahlia, and all of Tabby’s Place, Great Big Olive kisses of appreciation just the same to everyone for their support and generosity!

September 9th was a really big day of celebration, as this is Tuxie Appreciation Day . So, it was another day to celebrate sweet beautiful me and appreciate my gorgeous coat. I made sure that everyone (and I do mean everyone!) who passed through the lobby appreciated my beauty.
I did see a few of them stop in the Community Room to say hello to our most senior Tabby’s Place Resident, Tux. Which I allowed only because, well, his name is Tux, and at 23 years old, he is like, ancient. Being the kind girl that I am, I decided to allow him to receive some love too.
We also celebrated wonderful anniversaries! It is hard to believe, but October 5th marked the 23rd anniversary of the day the doors opened to Tabby’s Place. So many, many feline lives have been saved and changed forever, thanks to Tabby’s Place. Mine being one of them!

There are entire villages of staff members, volunteers, sponsors, and donors to thank for the success of Tabby’s Place. You, my kind sponsor, are one of the truest and best. As we head into another year, we are grateful to each and every person who contributes in their own way!
As we sail further into fall, there are so many things I am looking forward to. First up will be Halloween! We have all been planning and scheming our costumes for this year, which I promise will be a real hoot and treat, so stay tuned for pictures next month.
Before I go, I want to tell you how much I appreciate you. It warms my heart to know that you are always there for me, supporting me, and listening to my tales every month. I know that it takes a really special person to sponsor and support me, and I will always be grateful for you.
All my love,
Olive
