Update for Newman

Dear Newman friends,

Newman was playing “catch me if you can” with me during a recent visit. Surely, I thought, I would find him lazily enjoying the warm weather and fresh air in the solarium, but I did not. Instead, he was inside taking in all the visitors and working up an appetite. Eating seemed to be very important. Perhaps he heard there was a diet in the works soon.

In this one photo for this month’s post, I was able to get Newman’s attention with a toy that he became very intent on claiming as his own. He is full of spunk!

Newman’s friend Juju, who is fairly new to the FIV+ suite, decided to head out to the solarium during my visit, and luckily Newman followed right behind her. It was just too nice to be inside. Juju has come a long way since she arrived and is no longer hiding. Juju really seems to love to be sociable and play now, but still at a distance. She is proving to be a very sweet girl.

Newman had a brush with adoption this past month! The wonderful adopter ultimately took Toby instead, but really loved Newman too. Perhaps Newman is still on their minds and tugging at their hearts? We can only hope and pray. His spirits do not seem to have been broken, and he is stable health-wise, too.

Newman has also been witnessing some comings and goings in the FIV suite this month. First, poor Hobbes is back in quarantine isolation with ringworm. Next, lovely Halladay was adopted prior to even making it into the FIV+ suite!

As always, dear sponsors, thank you for all you do for our Newman. We could not provide this good care and attention without your help. Have a happy and healthy June!
