Update for Mona

Hello dear Sponsor,

I hope that you have had a good month. With the recent rain, our backyard is full of wonderful smells. I love sitting in the solarium taking it all in.

There is also a lot of activity out there. Just a few weeks ago, we were visited by a group of Girl Scouts, who helped to put up bird feeders within the immediate view of our solaria. Since then, I have made friends with many robins and finches. Sometimes we have lunch together, although we are seated at separate tables!

It has been a pleasant month here. There was some excitement, however, when it was found that Adelaide had ringworm and needed to be treated in seclusion. This made it easier for Charlie to take over the laps of all the visitors to our suite.

Here is a picture of Charlie enjoying the lap of one of my correspondents. Happily, Addy recently returned to our suite, and she is doing well.

In other health news, my friend Buddy developed some scratches on his nose. It looked like he had been in a fight. However, when the scratches did not heal (even after antibiotics), the conscientious staff at Tabby’s Place decided that a punch biopsy was in order. The results indicate a possible allergic dermatitis. Buddy will have a recheck next week, and his sutures will be removed then. We hope that Buddy’s nose will heal soon. He is such a beautiful boy!

Finally, we had some sad news about Toya, a long-time resident of Tabby’s Place who made her home in the lobby. Sometimes, I would see Toya, with her beautiful, colorful coat, from my window in the FIV+ Suite. Toya passed away this week. You can read all about this exceptional being by clicking here. Everyone at Tabby’s Place loved her and will miss her dearly.

Toya had many happy years at Tabby’s Place. It is only because you are so generous that cats like me and Toya have such glorious lives here. I am so grateful to you.

Until next month,
xoxoxo
