Update for Mona

My dear sponsors,

I am enjoying the month of June…how about you? I love spending long afternoons in the solarium. The weather has been unpredictable this month: sometimes sunny, sometimes rainy, and then there are the occasional flashes of lightning. It keeps things interesting for those of us in the FIV+ Suite.

Guess what: Wolfie’s back! As you might recall, Wolfie spent a lot of time in the hospital this spring, due to a serious liver condition. Just this past week, he was finally eating well enough on his own to have his feeding tube removed. Recently, he was spending time in the solarium with me and my correspondents. Here is a picture of him in the solarium, making a quick exit up the stairs. He is a shy guy, and I keep reminding him that it takes time to adjust, and there’s no rush. We’re all so joyful that he has returned and is feeling better.

With every passing month, I am feeling more welcoming to the humans who visit me, in my suite or in the solarium. I look forward to their petting my fur and talking sweetly to me. I think that I am really ready to experience living in a private home. So, if you know anyone who might be looking for a cat who is beautiful inside and out, tell them about me — and send them my picture!

My health continues to be fine. As for my best friend Hocus, he also seems OK. His cancer does not seem to be giving him any problems. However, the folks at Tabby’s Place have just learned that Hocus’ heart is a bit enlarged. While it is not currently creating any symptoms, they will continue to monitor it.

And that is one of the reasons this place is so great. They really keep an eye us, making sure that each of us is happy and healthy. And, my lovely sponsors, you help make it possible for me to live here. Every day, I experience how lucky I am!

Get ready for the summer solstice, which is the longest day of the year. Don’t forget to wear sunscreen! Check in with you next month.
