Update for Max

Hello, friends of Max:

I am happy to report that Max was able to ring in the New Year feeling more like his old self again.

Thanks to the diligence and devotion of our veterinary staff, Max is now receiving a medication proven effective in feline behavioral issues while decreasing another medication he had been receiving. The result is a Max that is again comfortable and at peace with himself. There have been no further episodes of tail-biting (his own), or other self-harming behavior. We are all very relieved and encouraged by this improvement.

The medical staff here at Tabby’s Place have been very focused on finding the answers to the questions surrounding Max’s behavioral issues and working to find a prescription protocol that would work for Max. However, it is not only the staff’s veterinary expertise from which Max benefits, but also the fact that they do their work as a ‘labor of love.’ They are incredibly devoted to Max’s emotional support while seeking medical solutions.

Adding to that level of emotional support is the amazing love and tenderness he receives from volunteers. Max is blessed to have many admirers who have taken time to visit him regularly during this difficult time. He truly takes glory in all of the attention focused in his direction.

Max has taken particular delight in a new cat water fountain in his private suite. He has always held a fascination for cat fountains; this new one is no exception. He is also the only cat to sport a white noise generator at Tabby’s Place, a little machine used to produce sounds that create a relaxed and peaceful environment. Max seems proud to show off his suite to anyone who stops by to visit with him, another sign that he is resting more comfortably.

A very special day looms in my own personal future: the Valentine’s Day eight-year anniversary of the adoption of Tabby’s Place alumnus FUZZY. As that day draws near, I remain totally delighted by Fuzzy, who bears many similarities to our Max. Both hailed from sad situations that brought them to the care of Tabby’s Place. Both require a high-level of care, and have greatly benefitted from staff expertise, love and attention. Both sport big green eyes and a touch of nobility that adds to their expression and charm. Two cats with stories that might have had the saddest of endings if not for the intervention of Tabby’s Place have wrapped themselves around the hearts and souls of everyone who loves them.

And LOVE them, we do.

Thank you, dearest sponsors, for being a part of the Tabby’s Place “family,” and for supporting Max when he needs you most. Your most gracious gifts help to provide the special care offered here at Tabby’s Place. Care offered with diligence, devotion, and LOVE.
