Update for Max

Update for Max

Happy Thanksgiving month to dear friends of Max,

This month finds our senior feline friend dealing with some medical issues that the staff at Tabby’s Place will continue to monitor closely. Max experienced fluctuations in his weight this month, losing more than we’d like in a short period of time. Results of tests showed us that his thyroid levels were a bit high, so the medication he currently takes for this was increased.

Another issue with which Max has been dealing is a stubborn urinary tract infection that is being treated with both antibiotics as well as subcutaneous fluid therapy. This combination of treatments is highly effective in treating urinary tract infections in cats. Together, we hope that this protocol will have our Max feeling better soon and start him on the path to regain his lost weight.

Max has also been reported to have some changes in mood and behavior, growling at what seems to be nothing (or at his tail as though it was an alien), and experiencing some confusion. Many of his sponsors will remember that once upon a time, Max was not always receptive to other cats, and these challenges meant a medication for Max that seemed to help him during those trying times. Perhaps these changes are due to his current medical issues. Rest assured that everyone at Tabby’s Place is monitoring this personality shift as well. We all want him to be comfortable and at ease again.

Thank you, dearest sponsors, for supporting our complex kitty during his good and trying times. We are so grateful to have this wonderful boy in our midst and have the opportunity to shower him with love. I know when I visit with him, he is still my beloved, happy Max, glad for my visits no matter how he feels physically.

During this special time when gratitude is ever-present on our minds, I remain truly grateful to you for your love of Max and support to address his medical needs.
