Hello, fans of Max!

I write this update for our favorite fellow on my birthday. Birthdays bring to mind many blessings for which I’m grateful. It is a time to reminisce about the past year.

Bringing these thoughts to a recent visit, I found Max and his friend Sammy curled on the lounge chair in contented companionship. The suite had just been served dinner, and I checked to make sure our boy had finished his meal. Watchful eyes watched me in return as I gave the dish a once-over. An approving comment brought that familiar twinkle to Max’s eyes.

As we monitor Max’s weight for fluctuations, we also make sure he is eating well. I am happy to report that he is holding steady when it comes to both his weight and his appetite.

Max and Sammy seem content to spend most days resting together in quiet siesta. They are happy and comfortable with their friendship, and welcoming to visitors, too.

The pair is patient when I share my affection with their suitemates. I chuckle as their roommate Tux starts up his “purr-engine” when I sit down next to him. Looking around me, it seems as if the cats are chuckling back at me. It is a nice little group of felines, and their compatibility is a pleasure to watch.

As Max and I celebrate another birthday together, I remain truly grateful for this wonderful companionship. We have been a cat-and-correspondent team for many years now, bringing you his news each month. I cannot visit with Max every day, but please know he receives the very best of care. Our Max is mellowing into a fine senior gentleman now, and as I sat with him, I prayed that he will continue to be blessed with good health for a very long time to come.
