Update for Max

Update for Max

Hello, friends of magnificent Max!

I am honored to announce that Max and I have reached a momentous milestone: our four-year anniversary! Yes, I have been reporting Max’s news to you each month for the past four years! As far as feelings go, I don’t think the two of us could ask for more, in our “cat-correspondent” relationship. We are dedicated to each other, look forward to spending time together, and truly enjoy our visits. There is always a touch of humor about us, which I think keeps all relationships fun!

When starting its feline sponsorship program, the goal of Tabby’s Place was to match a volunteer with a special needs cat that needed a correspondent to share its monthly news. The duties of the correspondent included visiting the cat to stay updated on its medical news, and in turn be able to report that news in an understandable manner to the cat’s sponsors. Of course, you’re interested in your sponsored cat’s social life, too; I try to bring you a bit of both. Max and I enjoy sharing the visits that bring his “news” to you.

Max and all of his feline roommates were relocated this month to Adoption Room #2, which is right next door to their old room. A move that in the past would have caused Max some “drama” found us looking at a calm, cool, and collected cat who took the change in stride. Max and his roomies settled in, and it seemed as if they had always been in that room just a short time later. Max is happy that his new room, like his old, has a perch from which he can still oversee things in the lobby through the window, which I call his “looking glass.”

At this holiday season, our fine fellow has much for which to be grateful. His recent weight fluctuations seemed to have settled down. At our last visit, I was pleased to see how good Max was looking. The adjustments in his medications that our veterinary staff had recently recommended were surely helping our Max to feel at his best again.

I would like to thank you, dear sponsors, for your love, dedication, and devotion to Max this year. Your generosity allows him to live in comfort and peace. The excellent care he receives allows him the blessing of good health, even as he gracefully ages. When he rests his handsome head at night, he knows he is loved by each and every one of us.

Is there any greater gift?

As we look to the new year, I know you will join me in prayer that Max will be making us “smile with our hearts” for a very long time to come.
