Each month, as we approach the deadline for Max’s update, I prepare to photograph him. I have always enjoyed doing this. I like submitting my own photos, especially if they coincide with the theme of my update. It also saves our staff members the time of doing the photos themselves. Max is quite photogenic, and usually welcomes the chance to be a shining star.
The fun part of doing this is picking the props. Fall is my favorite season, and I was looking forward to picking something with a nice rust or orange background. The Tabby’s Place laundry room is where the fun begins. There are many clean towels, blankets and soft beds to choose from. It would be a special treat for Max if that colorful item was fresh from the dryer, nice and toasty warm. I was delighted to find just what I was looking for, and proceeded to Adoption Room #1 in search of Max.
Max seemed happy to see me. He had just finished his dinner, and was nestled in a quilt for a siesta. He is usually cooperative for his photo shoot, and I was smiling and cooing at him as I started to drape the big colorful blanket on his chair. I knew he would look great in the middle of that leaf-design.
Eventually, curiosity got the cat, as they say, and Max did reluctantly stroll over to check out the new blanket. Once he was finished, he went over to his perch, as if to say, “See? I still reign here and make all suite decisions.” Message received, Max!
Max has been blessed with another month of good health. He is comfortable with his suitemates, and is doing well with them socially. In fact, Max is doing so well with them that we were able to introduce new cat Ella to his room, as she recuperates from a sad start in her short life. You can read her story here.
Thank you for your generous monthly gifts that help Max continue to rule his suite with a dignity and pride all his own. He’s thriving, and will now help in Ella’s healing. May the blessings of Tabby’s Place surround this cat today and work their wonders, as they have for our beloved Max and all of our other feline residents.
