In the past, I have allowed you the pleasure of putting pen to paw to write your own update. However, in view of your recent behavior, I thought it best that I write you a personal note. This note will also be read by your kind sponsors. I share it with concern.
Max, I understand from your feline roommate Sneaky that you are causing a little interference when her socialization process at Tabby’s Place. Our volunteers work closely with Sneaky to help her learn to trust humans, and they reward her progress with treats. You, my dear fellow, have been taking advantage of that opportunity to confiscate the treats! That’s kind of sneaky, if I do say so myself.
You have also been causing a little interference with the process itself, placing that long, striped body of yours between the volunteer and Sneaky, demanding a treat before Sneaky has even worked on her assigned task. If I did not think you were so beautiful, I’d have to take you to task on that maneuver as well. But, you are my favorite boy, and your shiny coat and big green eyes must be very hard for the socializers to resist…
I am pleased to share the news that, in spite of a few additional treats, you have maintained your weight well. Oh, OK, maybe all of this is not so bad after all.
I know you join me, Maxie, in thanking your dear sponsors for their gifts each month. Their love and support help provide the care you need to be the confident soul that rules Adoption Room #1. Let there be no doubt that you rule it well from your favorite perch, now shared with Sammy.
It might take me a little while longer to get there to see you this week, as I am busy confirming your receipt of that Easter basket…
Until I can hug you, I remain,
