This month, we look in on As Tabby’s Place Turns, starring Max.
Life in Adoption Room #1 has reminded me of a soap opera recently. I am never quite sure of what scene will be played out before me when I visit. I enter quietly, so as not to interrupt. Will I find the star of the show, magnificent Max, resting comfortably on his perch overlooking the lobby? Perhaps he will be nestling next to shy little Peggy Sue, our blind cat who prefers background roles to those of a star. Or am I to find Max growling in the direction of female feline Bindi, a beautiful starlet?
The cats’ Guiding Light, the Tabby’s Place staff, has always monitored our boy closely. We want all of our cats to be comfortable, and to reside contentedly with one another. This sometimes requires adjustments here and there. After all, life with 100+ cats is never 100% peaceful, but we try really hard to make sure there is not too much agitation between our residents. I think it sometimes boils down to this: Cats just like some cats better, period. Like humans, cats make better friends with some cats, tolerate others, and remain just acquaintances with many.
Max has been blessed with another month of good health. As you can see by these photos, his eyes glow and his coat shines. Thank you, dear sponsors, for your generosity each month in providing for Max’s needs. Your kindness gives him the confidence to remain a star, elegant and regal.
