Update for Max

Update for Max

“How do I love thee?
Let me count the ways…”

There are many kinds of love here at Tabby’s Place. As Cupid hovers about this Valentine’s Day, I think he will be very proud of just how much love our Max receives.

First, there is the love of staff towards our felines. That love is constant, supportive, and caring – it never wavers and never fails. The staff provides daily, hands-on care, and Max is very blessed, indeed!

Next, there is the love of our volunteers. Here, too, Max does well. He is a popular cat, and many volunteers stop by to visit him. They check on how he is doing, admire his beauty, and sit for a spell to chat. They return regularly, to visit our boy.

Then, there is the love of the other felines in his suite. Here is where Max could run into some difficulty. We all know that Max has had his share of ups and downs when cohabiting with other cats. But he has made good progress, and I’m sure that Cupid must be proud.

We now see him living peacefully with his beautiful female feline roommates. Though we do not see any romantic notions among them, a level of comfort and mutual respect has developed among these suitemates.

For Max, this is huge!

There is an old saying that “You get out of life what you give it,” and I think our Max is finally learning that it’s true. If you are kind to others, you are likely to receive kindness in return. His roommates are quiet, charming felines, each shy, but with a certain dignity and grace all her own. I think Max has come to understand this. Max has a touch of “regal” about him, and now realizes that if he wants others to see him in this light and treat him with respect, he must respect others in return. Do the lady-cats that share his suite think he is their “king?” I doubt it! But don’t tell Max! It’s our secret!

Finally, there is the love of his sponsors, for which we are so grateful. Your most gracious gift each month allows Max to be the wonderful cat that he is today. He has thrived under the good care and companionship he receives at Tabby’s Place. When he rests his head at night, he knows he is truly loved. As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, I don’t think there is anything more important.

Thank you for making Max’s happy, healthy life possible. Have a great month!
