I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and were able to enjoy it with those whom you love.
One of my best friends told me that people come into our lives for a season or a lifetime, but always for a reason. I believe this holds true for animals as well. Our dog, Dusty, who died when I was 21, taught me about the unconditional love animals have. My cat, Tino, taught me about loyalty and the capacity for animal intelligence. He also converted me into a cat person. Dolly has taught me about love and how resilient animals can be.
Then there’s Max. Max has taught me that all domesticated animals want is love and affection. I think back on the two-plus years for which I have been writing for Max, and the one constant throughout has been his warm and unique personality. With few exceptions, Max has always been happy to see me. If you recall, I often predicted that Max would make a wonderful addition to someone’s home. Well, today, I am very happy to report that Max has found exactly that.
Max has been adopted!
A wonderful volunteer took a liking to our favorite crazy kitty. After getting her husband’s blessing, she decided to adopt him and welcome him into her home. In addition to having two new loving parents, he will share a home with two guinea pigs. That’s right; there are no other cats in the house, which is exactly how Max would have it.
The answer to that is yes. Thanks to your unending generosity and love, Max is now in his forever home. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel toward you for opening your heart, as well as your wallets to help support this truly wonderful kitty. It has been my privilege and honor to write to you each month to let you know how, because of your help, far Max has come. I wish you nothing but the best.
