November salutations, Max Maniax!
From 2003 to 2006, I lived in Wilmington, NC, a small city on the southeastern coast of the state. During my three years there, I rode out about a half dozen hurricanes, including three in two weeks. After each storm, I would get into my car and drive around town to assess the damage. Call me morbidly curious, but there’s something stunning about seeing how powerful these storms are…and how quickly things go back to normal.
Come with me as I drive my virtual car through Adoption Room #2 to assess the “damage” from Hurricane Bambi.
As last month’s update went to press, Bambi was adopted. I think the boys were so ecstatic they threw a party to celebrate. Immediately, Max returned to his happy, mellow self. The good news for one of Adoption Room #2’s residents was just beginning. Captain was also adopted. If Max and Hooper were bummed to see their buddy go, they didn’t let on. Just as Tom Hanks declared, “there’s no crying in baseball!” Max and Hooper declared the same for Adoption Room #2. They are very happy as a duo. They spend many content hours napping together in the window of Adoption Room #2 and both relish human visitors.
Thanksgiving is almost here again, and, on behalf of Max, I am thankful for Tabby’s Place and you, our generous contributors. Without your efforts, Max would never have advanced beyond his limited interactions with his therapy cat buddy Mozart. He has become a well-adjusted and contented cat because of your generosity. Thank you, and Happy Thanksgiving!
