Update for Max

Hello Max Maniax!

They say all good things must end…

I don’t know if you’ve ever seen The Wedding Singer, but one of the funniest scenes is when Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore go to a photographer’s studio to negotiate a photo package. In explaining how she could tell they were going to make it, she said she just knew, like she knew that [insert list of famous divorced couples here] were forever in love.

Just as Burt and Loni, Donald and Ivana, etc. split, so has the strange, sometimes contentious, usually happy triad known as Adoption Room #2. Yes, Trey and Cypress have moved out and Captain and Hooper moved in. I feel bad for Trey and Cypress, as they were very much in love but now live in separate suites. The staff is monitoring them to make sure they’re ok, and they seem to be.

As for Max… The staff was very apprehensive about changing Max’s environment, especially given his propensity for misery when faced with unexpectedly different circumstances. How would Max react to his new roommates? Would one of them become the new favorite target of a Battle Royale or would his tail be in his crosshairs? After all, this is the biggest change Max has faced since moving full time into Adoption Room #2.

We shouldn’t have worried. Max has continued to defy expectations with his zen-like mellowness. He seemingly has succumbed to the newcomers’ sweet dispositions and has made it through this massive upheaval unfazed…so far. The staff is, of course, monitoring the situation to make sure Max remains happy.

Thank you so much for your continued support of the cat who never ceases to amaze. I hope to be able to say next month that Max is still happy with his new roomies, but the fact I can say it now is both wonderful and a testament to your generosity. Enjoy the remainder of the summer!
