Update for Max

Hello, friends of Max,

I am pleased to report that Max continues to thrive under the good care he receives at Tabby’s Place. When I say good care, I mean care of both the physical and emotional kind. Max has remained at a steady twelve pounds; you will remember that he has suffered from weight fluctuations in the past, and has always had to be closely monitored. His steadfast weight in itself is a testimony to how well he is doing. We could not be happier for him.

His emotional well-being is supported by the loving staff, who tends to his needs and daily care. Max loves everyone and everyone loves him. It is a source of much joy to the staff to see how Max has responded to treatment. He greets each person with that special “cat-smile” all his own. He knows and understands that he is loved by each person that cares for him. This has helped him to be the best boy he can be.

However, it is important to share another “constant” in Max’s life that has helped to make all of the difference in his recovery: the love and emotional support he receives from the volunteers at Tabby’s Place.

Max is a VERY popular gentleman with the female volunteers, who dote on him during regular visits. Max loves all of the attention; his big green eyes sparkle with affection when we call his name and walk into his suite. Max particularly enjoys female attention, and has many female volunteers who visit him. However, he is also popular with our male volunteers, who make it a point to have some guy-time with him as well. The consistency of these regular visits adds much to Max’s day, and plays an important role in keeping his spirits up.

These days, we see a happy and healthy Max, waiting to receive visitors in his suite. Sunny days find him perching on the window sills, watching over the parking lot as if supervising those coming and going. A nod in his direction will often receive a “cat-nod” in return. The cat-tree in his suite is also a good place from which to watch over things. Fluffy beds allow for comfortable siestas. At one time, Max did not fluctuate from one or two spots during his recovery. Now, like most healthy cats, he enjoys variety. I look forward to finding him (or having him find me!) when I visit.

As I continue to watch Max thrive under this wonderful support system, I know I speak for everyone at Tabby’s Place when I say “thank you.” Thank you, dearest sponsors, for your most gracious gifts to our fine fellow. Thank you for supporting his needs on a regular basis. Thank you for helping him to thrive in this wonderful support system. We appreciate your calls and emails so very much. If you have not done so already, we hope that you are able to visit Max some sunny day soon and REALLY make his day!

In the meantime, he sends his love and thanks.
