Update for Macaroon

Dearest supporters of Macaroon,

When last we left Macaroon, she was extolling the virtues of living at Tabby’s Place. There were adequate spaces for napping; she had visitors in her suite; she got to play with wand toys; and there was a solarium (although I never once saw her venture out there).

Well, in the past month, things at Tabby’s Place have changed dramatically. Not the least of the changes was the elimination of the Adoption Rooms to make way for private offices for three of our staff. The Community Room, formerly the collective office for almost the entire staff, has also been changed for the better, to make room for more cats and shared office space.

Our dear Macaroon has been moved to Sanctuary Operations Manager Danielle’s office (formerly Adoption Room 3), where she has been joined by Jackie, Zencada, Virginia and Reese. Like Macaroon, these girls (well, not including Danielle) are all on scheduled and/or prescription diets.

I recently caught up with Mac to see how she was enjoying her new digs and her new roommates.
First of all, she was extremely affectionate when I visited. She was also very beautiful — no more dandruff, and her fur was shiny and well-kept. She seemed happy.

Best of all, there is a window! To the outside! There are cars to watch, birds to see, and not so many other cats as competition. And Danielle gets to spend more time with the cats as individuals, so they get more pets and attention. Plus: no more Hank. (Don’t worry about him; he’s doing just fine in his own new room, Suite B.) Mac seems to be getting along well with her new roomies, and she appears to like the new arrangement very much.

On the day I went to see her, Macaroon was the only one awake. She is the youngest cat in the office and the most active. I know she loves wand toys, and next time I’m at Tabby’s Place, I will make time to play with her. I don’t know how excited her roommates are about play, but maybe Mac can have the toy all to herself.

Looking at the accompanying picture, you can rest assured that Macaroon is in great health and very happy.
Thank you for all you do for our lovely girl.
