Update for Luna

Dear Team Luna,

There are at least two things Luna is certain of: 1) A lab tech’s work is never done, and 2) Good help is hard to find.

And, wouldn’t you know it?  Just when Luna thought she was turning Clark into a shipshape lab partner, the gorgeous goon went and got himself adopted!  That’s right!  It appears her majestic feline friend has left for greener pastures—a new home with a wonderful family who really does think Clark is the “cat’s meow.” Our blue-eyed boy finds himself the center of attention in a home where he is already deeply loved.  Of course, Luna can’t begrudge Clark his newfound happiness—he certainly deserves it—but it has posed, for her, some inconveniences.   After all, losing Clark was a bit of an emotional experience for Luna (although she’d never admit it). And where, just where, would find a new second hand?

Good buddy and lab mate, Clark, was adopted!

Not one to be lovelorn, Luna doubled down on her workload and made herself even more indispensable around the lab. She goes about each day with gusto, willing to offer her very professional aid, assistance, and opinions to every member of the staff.  We’ll often find her helping Drew with medication bag refills or even sitting atop Bree’s shoulder providing direction as she sweeps the surgery floor.  In fact, Luna has been so helpful, Jess recently sent out a memo alerting all Tabby’s Place professionals, “If you ever need help with anything, Luna is more than willing to accompany you on your tasks.”  More than ever before, we really don’t know what we’d do without her!

Lest you worry that all this extra diligence on Luna’s part may have a negative impact on her delicate constitution, let me reassure you. Our industrious girl never looked better!  She wears a bright and shiny countenance, and a troubling yeast infection in her right ear has resolved. For Luna, love, laughter, and lots and lots of work seem to be the real cure-all for anything that ails you—especially if a medication doesn’t work.

Nonetheless, upon Clark’s departure, the search for a new lab mate for Luna began in earnest, and we won’t keep you in suspense: Her new cohort is Angelo, an older fellow coming from Suite A.  Now, we don’t know how this will work out—Luna can be a little naughty when it comes to integrating newcomers, and right now she’s in a bit of a snit.

Angelo has a history of needing a special urinary diet, and he has very bad arthritis.  We’re not sure he in any way can keep up with Luna, but we’re prevailing upon her better nature to show Angelo some kindness.  His best friend in Suite A, the lovely and beloved Mary, passed away recently and Angelo deeply misses his cuddle buddy.  He’s been more than a little depressed, and we’re all hoping the move to the lab will brighten Angelo’s spirits.  He’ll certainly get more human interaction, and we have a funny feeling Luna will slowly but surely adopt him. Yes, Luna is a tough taskmaster, but it would be hard to find a gal with a bigger heart.  We’ll let you know how it goes next month.

Angelo: the new lab partner!

Thank you for supporting this bright (and most helpful) girl!
