Update for Luna

Dear Team Luna,

Happy New Year and welcome to 2021!

Like most of you, I’m very happy to put 2020 behind us, and so is Luna.  While serving as the poster cat for Tabby’s Place end of year fundraising efforts was quite an honor, it did not come without a little stress. Superstar status does have its privileges, but it also comes with great responsibilities.  Luna is proud to share that, despite all its challenges, 2020 was our best fundraising year ever!  Tabby’s Place has so many wonderful friends like you, whose generosity certainly knows no bounds.

Many of you were quite concerned about Luna’s December medical report, but I have great news!  Our fair feline is doing much, much better.  While continuing to have periodic nasal discharge, Luna is in excellent form in almost every other respect. The facial lesions she was suffering have cleared nicely, and she greets us each day with a beaming countenance.  And while her weight remains stable, she is looking remarkable svelte—in fact, she is one fit and pretty kitty.  Just one issue remains at the moment: Luna has some sort of persistent yeast or bacterial infection in her right ear.  A trip to her specialist for this sort of thing is in order, and we’ll have both her test results and a treatment plan in short order.

As you can see from this recent photo, Luna lets nothing keep her from her laboratory duties or her appointed rounds.  She’s very much on the case and a heroine to every cat and kitten who enters the medical suite.  Nothing much gets by her and she is, as always, a perfectionist when it comes to her work – which, of course, brings us to our next topic of discussion: Clark.

Yes, Clark has returned to Tabby’s Place and is once again Luna’s lab associate. While she cannot say she wasn’t happy to welcome him back, he is for her a source of some consternation.  Never one for much hard work, Clark continues to do what he does best—simply be big, beautiful Clark! It’s true: Clark is one pretty kitty without much of a work ethic.  And you can imagine what Luna thinks of that!  Nonetheless, Luna approaches him with an attitude of patience, tolerance, and forbearance while continuing to wonder, “What are these humans thinking?”

Ah, well … a clinic cat’s work is never, ever done.

Thank you, as always, for your outpouring of love for Luna.
