Update for Kitten Fund

Happy July, kitten friends!

There’s never a dull moment here at Tabby’s Place. Or perhaps we should say there’s never a kittenless moment! Last month, we hosted another lovely Kitten Shower, and when the dust had settled, six sweet smidgens were in their forever homes. Just when we thought we were running low on our “stock” of kittens, along came the newest wee ones.

As of this message, our Kitten Room is home to Sallie, Grace, Trevor, Luke and Jason, all but the last of whom are already spoken for. Back in the holding rooms, siblings Rick and Mischone are being treated for ringworm (although Mischone already has a forever family awaiting her). Meanwhile, foster families have been helping to raise Draco, Hermione, Ron, Biz, Daryl, Herschel, Camina, Ford, Chevy, Ram and Shelby. You can tell we’re knee deep in kittens just by checking out our online adoptable cats page, where you can get a peek at all those cuties. It’s not often that the whole first page is kittens, kittens, kittens!

I’ve gotten a chance to know some of these little ones better before they’ve been taken away home; Harry in particular was a very helpful little cat. Mailings are not generally so exciting to put out, but Harry found the whole process fascinating! No word on whether he’s been helping his new forever family with their postal needs.

I met little Biz (pictured below left) on his first day back at Tabby’s Place after spending his early days with a foster family. What a wonderful job these generous souls do with our kittens. Biz was staying in the hospital to get re-acclimated to being at the sanctuary, and all he wanted was some love and attention from any handy human being. Imagine if he’d spent his first weeks feral. It might take him months, or even longer, to grow to trust us humans. Instead, he is a delightful little boy who has already charmed his way into a forever family (his return stay didn’t last long!)

Sadly, this month also witnessed the return of two kittens…from 2008. Little Leila and Sally were both babies when we last saw them. But, we always promise, “once a Tabby’s Place cat, always a Tabby’s Place cat,” so we welcomed them back without question.

This unquestioning support is just one aspect of the gift of lifetime love that you help us provide to our little kittens. We may be knee deep in kittens, and it may be no small task to help them all along their life’s journeys, but all of us together do a mighty fine job of it, don’t we? Thank you so very much for your generous support of the Kitten Fund! Together, we give our littlest kitties the best of love and care.
