Update for June

Dear Sponsors and Tabby’s Place Lovers Everywhere,

Blankie needing to be replaced…

Hello and welcome to my latest journal entry!

The weather is changing, as are the leaves on the trees outside of the sanctuary.  But I, along with all the residents of Tabby’s Place, are safe and warm inside.  We have had some cold nights, but no one is cold here.

I have a new friend, a little girl kitty named Paige.  She and I are sharing our blankies.  One day, Miss Sheila came in to visit me and saw that my blanket needed changing, so she took it away.  Wow, I was scared for a bit since I could not find it and was not sure there would be another.  But a few minutes later, Miss Sheila came back with a big black blankie for me (and for Paige ). The only things that were sticking out were my toes…and you had to look really close as both I and the blankie are black.  So we blended well!

Paige and me sharing a blankie and bed!

Paige and I love to nestle under the blankets on the big bed.  There is plenty of room and I am glad to have a roomie to share things with. I hope we are friends for a long time.  Maybe we can be adopted together.

So you know I battled a urinary tract infection (UTI) last month.  It seemed to resolve after I started the right meds.  But now I am leaking urine.  I get checked each time by the staff to be sure I do not have another UTI and, so far, so good. Maybe I will have to start wearing a diaper. Maybe my muscles are getting weak and I can’t wait until the staff expresses me.  I hear tell that as we get older, our parts start to wear out.

I know humans have Depends.   I guess you could call the diapers some of us wear at Tabby’s Place “kitty depends”—ha ha. All I know is that I depend on the staff here to take care of me and keep me safe, warm, and well.

I would love a home of my own with my own human.  And now that my friend Paige is here, I hope you will come to visit me and give me pets and hugs and kisses once we are open to the public again (we are still closed due to that nasty COVID virus).  And give some love to Paige as well.  You will find us in the Community Room where I spend all my time doing the usual:  keeping the staff in line at meetings, shredding any paper I can find, giving hugs to everyone, and sleeping under my blankies.

New blankie… with just my toes!

Everyone be safe and well for your Halloween holiday.  Paige and I will be reaping the benefits of our safe place and hope that the staff will give us some extra treats…

Until next month, enjoy each day and be safe and well.

Love and kitty hugs and kisses,
June
