Update for June

Happy August to all my Sponsors and Tabby’s Place fans… and welcome to my latest journal…

Well, it has certainly been one heck of a summer so far. First, there was, COVID-19, then it was non-stop hot and humid weather, and now lots of storms.  But we are all healthy, cool, and safe here at Tabby’s Place.

I am enjoying another month of good health.  And I am still getting lots of hugs and kitty kisses when the staff comes to do my daily toilettes.  My usual mani and pedi are done regularly along with my weight, a heart check, and a mouth and ear check for any unusual conditions.  But, so far, so good.

Big bed… new blanket! Bliss!

I continue to monitor the staff at their regular daily meetings.   I am always looking for some paper or envelopes to drop during those meetings so that I can have something new to shred. And I am also in constant search of new beds and blankies as I love to bury myself under them.

It is a little busier now that some of the volunteers are back.  They are helping the staff with feeding, cleaning, and other essential duties.  The staff does all the medicating, weighing, mani and pedis, and check-ups.

I think I am having a mid-9-life crisis!  I am starting to get very picky with my wet food.

First in line for food!

When I first came to Tabby’s Place several years ago, I ate whatever I got—with gusto!  But now I am getting picky with some of the choices I am getting from whoever feeds me.  I am not sure what I like better as there are so many options:  pate, ground, filets, shreds.  Sometimes if I turn up my little nose at one choice, a kind-hearted person will give me a new dish and give my rejected one to another kitty.  I suppose I should be happy with what I was originally given, but you know we kitties sometimes get finicky.  It is okay, as there are many kitties in the Community Room where I live, as shuffling around the food dishes happens quite often. Plus I can cruise the room to see what food choices are there that other kitties chose to ignore.  I must tell you, though, that I am always right there when the door opens at feeding time!!  There are a few aggressive kitties in the Community Room, including Carley Rose and Dani.  I want to be sure I get my pick of the food choices first.

Other than that, I am a happy and healthy little girl.  Please visit me online and think about adopting me if you would consider a special needs kitty.  I am really a beautiful cat, just like all the cats here at the sanctuary.

So until next month, everyone please stay well, cool, and safe.

Hugs and kitty kisses,
June
