Update for June

June’s Journal #32

Hi, everyone and welcome to February.  I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.  I sure did as I have so many valentines.  All the staff here at the Sanctuary and all my sponsors are my valentines all day, every day, 365 days a year.     It is so nice to be loved as much as I am, along with all the rest of the kitties here at Tabby’s Place.

I have been trying to settle in for a long winter’s nap.  But the weather won’t cooperate.  One day it is 50 and the next it is 20 degrees.  So this seesawing is playing havoc with some of the kitties.  I think we are all reacting to the seasons almost changing before it is really time.  But it beats mounds of snow and tornadoes like these happening in other parts of the world.

I am doing well here at Tabby’s.  I miss my dear friend, Puzzle, who is at Rainbow Bridge.  He was very sick, and he and I used to curl up together in the big bed in the community room.  I still curl up there, but it is not quite the same without my buddy.  Claire and I seem to be getting along nicely.  I think you humans call it “coexisting.”  That is fine with me as long as I don’t get batted in the head again.  I can laugh about it now, but it wasn’t so funny a few months back.

My health is excellent again this month.  Those of us who are paralyzed are more prone to urinary tract infections.  But the staff here at the sanctuary is very good at taking care of me and all the special needs kitties.  They are hands-on with us at least once a month to check our teeth eyes, heart, and lungs, and to do our regular manis and pedis.  And I get my bladder done several times a day along with my bowels so I don’t have any intestinal issues.  I know the humans in some countries are battling that nasty coronavirus, but I am vaccinated for all those things.  So I am not worried.

I hear that before my next journal entry, daylight saving time will be back.  That is wonderful, as that means the days will be longer and I can sit in my cat tree and look out the window all day in between cat naps.  And that also means there is more daytime for you all to come to the sanctuary and visit me.  I really would love some human company besides the staff and volunteers so I have a better chance to get adopted.  If you come and spend some time with me, you will see that I am very friendly and love to have my head, chin, ear and back rubs.  And you might fall in love with some of the other special needs kitties, too.

So, c’mon down to Tabby’s Place and take a guided tour.  See all of the kitties and especially me.  I can have my bags packed if you want to take me home.  I would love my very own human family to live with and to take care of me for the rest of my life.

Kitty hugs and kisses,
June
