Update for June

June’s Journal–Entry #14

Happy July to all…and what a month it has been…kitten rescues, kitten fosters, and kitten
adoptions…yay for all the kittens!! Don’t forget about us adult kitties who also would love homes. We
are here at the sanctuary just waiting to meet you.

As for me, wow, what a month! I have been busy keeping the staff on their toes and watching them gasp and fret when I climb my cat tree during their meetings. I am truly an agile kitty for a special needs lady who is paralyzed from my waist down. But my front legs are strong, and I am practicing my gymnastics feats for the next Olympic trials. I just chuckle my little kitty chuckle as I watch the tabby’s staffers keep an eye on me whenever I do my routines.

And scribe came to see me on July 4th. The weather has been just awful outside, but here in the
community room, we are okay. We had some issues with the A/C, but it is still cool enough for us to be
comfy. I would hate to be outside in this weather.
So scribe found me in yet another new bed tucked inside one of the many cat trees in my room.

At first, I did not want my head massaged, but she kept trying and started rubbing my face and ears, and I purred up a storm. I got a bit scared when I heard a loud noise, but it was only a volunteer opening a crate door and putting down some water. Then I settled down and did a good sniff on scribe’s hand and fingers, and I smelled dogs and other cats.
Hmmm, and I thought I was the only one…

It was very quiet at Tabby’s Place today with only the sound of the water fountain in the background. Just as I was washing my leg, Pixie came by. She has been a little cranky and fresh lately (I think it is PMS), but she had a nice long drink of water from the fountain. I was not impressed and just went back to resting comfortably in my bed. Eventually, Pixie scooted across the floor and scribe and I continued our visit.

She told me about how one of her kitties, Mcgraw, had to leave her for Rainbow Bridge and how her
new dog, Hazel, got her through a tough several days. Then she told me about the fireworks and the
holiday, but not to worry as I was safe inside in my bed inside the sanctuary. Yay for Tabby’s Place!

Pixie came back and wanted scribe to pet her, so she did for a bit. But then Pixie left again and scribe
went back to giving me my head and ear massage. That was about all I was in the mood for at this time.
Healthwise, I am very good. I am still getting my monthly manis and pedis and weigh-ins, and just keep
hoping that one day, someone out there will come to adopt me. I know I need special care, but there
are some nice people out there who might like to help me be in a furever home like lots of the Tabby’s Place kitties. Until then, I will just stay here and continue to love my life here at the sanctuary, thanks to your wonderful generosity.

Hope your July 4th was a good one and that you are having a wonderful summer like I am.

Purrs and kitty kisses to all,

Love, June
