June’s Journal # 16
June being June….this is my journal entry for this month…I don’t know if it is the weather, all the kittens, Juliana, or all the extra activity because of the volunteer picnic..But I was not having it today…June being June.
Scribe came to visit me and she even brought a book to read to me. It is called 365 Animal Stories and Rhymes. The book belongs to her dog, Miss Hazel. But as soon as Scribe found me and sat on the floor next to me, I started to scoot away. She did manage to get in a nice back rub, but only for a few seconds as I was just not having it…..June being June.
I was all ready to dine on my evening meal and hurried under the table in the Community Room. But to my surprise, Juliana came by and ate from both of the dishes sitting there. I guess it is first come, first served. So I just waited. I know I was being rather anti-social, but we all have our days. And this one was mine. So I managed to chase Juliana away and she hissed and spit and so did I. Scribe said something like, “Now girls, no drama here at Tabby’s Place. Let’s be nice…” But today was not my day…June being June.
So I just stayed under the table and watched the others kitties eating. I did not even try for any food. Don’t worry, dear sponsors, as I am fine. I am just being June.
This is a far cry from my usual antics. Whenever folks are in the Community Room, I am usually front and center stage. In fact, some of the new volunteers who do not know me always comment on my social skills and versatility. I am still practicing all my moves for the next Kitty Olympic tryouts.
Healthwise, I am just fine. I really do enjoy my meals and love getting those back rubs. I love my manis and pedis and weigh-ins. Still not too keen on the staff at Tabby’s Place helping me with my toilettes, but I tolerate them as they have to be done. Being paralyzed is not so much fun, but I am doing just fine here at the sanctuary.
Fall is in the air, and the cool days are coming soon. We are having lots of rain. But I am dry and warm here at Tabby’s Place. I really do love it here, but would also love a home of my own. So if anyone out there has experience with special needs paralyzed kitties, come and visit me and give me a back and ear rub or two…I really do love those.
Until then….this is
June being June (for now).
Kitty purrs and kisses to all.
