Happy May, Friends of Faye!
Faye and I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy and adjusting as well as possible to our new normal during these long and unusual days. We also hope that the beautiful signs of new life in the emerging spring landscape are offering some comfort and hope to all. I’ve noticed an unusually robust amount of squirrels this spring, and in addition, in my backyard alone, I spy chipmunks, groundhogs, rabbits, and an occasional pink-nosed opossum.
As far as things indoors are going, we at Tabby’s Place miss our extended family of volunteers and visitors, and while we are sure our kitties have noticed that things are a bit different lately, they are in good spirits, all things considered.
Faye, in particular, is having a happy, healthy month! She is feeling much more comfortable and warm-weather-ready with her adorable summer lion cut. As you can see from the photos, when we groom Faye, we try to keep her fashionable by leaving some well-placed “floof” around her face, paws, and tail. And, while she’s clearly ready to strut the catwalk, she prefers to spend much of her time in her favorite box on the floor of Suite B.
In fact, we have quickly learned that if Faye isn’t visible high up on her ramp, we can find her in that box. It seems that her suite-mates have also come to understand that if Faye is in “her” box, they better stay out of that box. To keep things equitable, though, we have placed a large number of boxes on the floor in Suite B, and this has become quite the favorite spot for many kitties. Check out all the little cats peeking out from what our staff now lovingly refers to as “Box City.”
Mayor Faye of Boxy City hopes these photos of her and her friends spark some joy for you! Faye and I are thinking of you and sending you love and positive energy. We thank you for your friendship and generous support, and we’re sending you virtual hugs and head bumps!
Remember, even though you can’t visit Tabby’s Place yet for safety reasons, you can follow us on social media and check out photos of your favorite kitties, like Faye!
We’ll talk again soon, friends . . .
Be well!
