Update for Faye

Happy August, friends of Faye!

Author Virginia Woolf once wrote, “A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction.” Faye offers a friendly amendment: “A cat must have a soft bed and a ramp of her own if she is to be Faye.”

Our glamour girl is doing well in her new digs, Suite B, this month, having been recently relocated due to not one (Walter), but two (Walter and Archer) rivalries in her former Suite C. Admittedly, I was a bit concerned about how well she would adjust to her new abode, seeing that Faye sometimes struggles with being a “cat’s cat.” Don’t get me wrong: she generally gets along quite amicably with her more mellow roommates, but Faye isn’t a big fan of big personalities, so acclimating to a residence chock full o’ new kitties was a potential challenge for her.

Fortunately, Faye took the high road. . . or, rather, the high ramp. Always a fan of a penthouse view, Faye is often found perched proudly up on her selected ramp high at the top of her suite. And our volunteers have taken to indulging her with gifts: soft blankets, cuddly beds, and all the requisite comfort upgrades befitting a princess. As you can see from the attached photos, Faye is thoroughly smitten with all the special attention and pampering.

Aside from her the occasional request for the latest copy of Vogue—and another recurrence of diarrhea, which resolved with medication (since discontinued)—Faye is having a very good month. We will continue to monitor her stool carefully, since we’ve noticed that Faye’s had some, um. . . tummy troubles a few times this year. Also, she’d be mortified if she knew I included that detail in her monthly update, so let’s keep that little tidbit on the down-low, okay friends?

We hope the long days and warm nights are treating you well. Faye’s been particularly enchanted with the presence of fireflies in the early evenings. Go outside and see for yourself! There’s been a veritable constellation of tiny floating lights lately! So beautiful!

Faye hopes this month brings you happiness and a touch of magic. She thanks you for choosing her to be one of your best friends and for your continued love and generous support. We’ll talk again soon, friends. . .
