Elliot’s Episodes #4

Dear Sponsors and Tabby’s Place Lovers,

Happy January! Here is my latest episode of life at Tabby’s Place.

So, the holidays are over and it is really cold outside… I mean, downright brut!  But I am warm and happy and healthy here at Tabby’s Place.

Mary Anne came to visit me a while ago and found me on top of the ramp in my Suite B next to my tuxedo friend, and I was sound asleep.  But when she called my name, I woke right up and let her give me some head and ear pets.  I really like those.  However, “hunger” called and I spotted a bowl of kibble next to the bed.  (They only feed us wet food twice a day at Tabby’s Place, but we can graze on kibble in between those feedings.) So I had to have a snack!

But then I came down the ramp for a while and got more head and neck pets and even a back rub.  I really like those, too.  Mary Anne moved one of the beds closer to her and I jumped down on it.  But the lure of more kibble was too strong, and up the ramp I went for a few more bites.  Then, of course, it was bath time and I did a great big face wash.  I came back down the ramp and found a nice soft and warm bed and curled up for another nap.  I heard Mary Anne tell Kim that Suite B was so quiet as all of us were taking our post-breakfast, pre-lunch nap.

So, dear sponsors, I am in very good health and very good spirits this month.  The staff who take care of me noticed some mild gingivitis but not enough for a dental.  So I have some time before I get my teeth cleaned.  Thank goodness they don’t have to brush my teeth, because I know I would give them a hard time with that.

Me and my friend Marcus

Suite B is just the place for me.  I have blossomed socially since my transfer from the kitten room. I made friends with a cat named Marcus, and we play sometimes and spend the day with each other.  I have also made friends with some of the “bully” cats who sort of tease some of the more shy kitties.  If I can play with the bullies, maybe they will leave the others alone for some time.  And you know what, I love to get comfy in all the cubbies, especially the ones with the beds and blankies.  You will often see me entertaining myself when my buddies are asleep or bathing or eating.  I have a favorite plastic spring toy that I love to bat around and also carry around in my mouth.

What does it take to be an escapee?

But, dear Sponsors, I am sure you have heard of the fad called the Escape Room.  Lots of hoomans are enthralled with this game.  Well, it has reached me in Suite B.  I am enthralled too, with sitting on the step stool and looking out of the window in the door.  Now if I could only figure out how to open it, I would be an “escapee.”   I hear tell that the hoomans get a hint or two if they can’t figure out the clues, but not one staff member or volunteer from Tabby’s Place has given me any clues.  So I guess I will have to figure this out by myself!

Dear sponsors, I am so happy here at Tabby’s Place, but nothing beats a home of one’s own.  I hope someone out there will give me a chance and adopt me into a furever home.  But if you can’t, please come to visit me at the sanctuary and play with me, my friends, and my toys.  And I just love those head, ear, and back rubs, too!

So until next month, be well, be safe, and be warm.  Thanks to you, I am all 3!  Yay for me!

Love to all,
Elliot
