Update for Cotton

Update for Cotton

Greetings Cotton Fans,

It’s been quite a busy month at Tabby’s Place. The series of snowstorms impacted several of our regularly scheduled vet days, which has meant extra-long and busy days when the vet team could safely assemble. We are so looking forward to our first breaths of spring air! Thankfully, it will be on our doorstep soon.

Cotton, helping to clean the Lobby

It seems that Cotton is a bit of a devil when it comes to helping his servants get the necessary cleaning done. He likes to hide in a tent and then reach out, trying to topple whatever happens to be on the top of the pile—towels, or blankets or whatever—he’s not particular, he just loves the challenge.  Whatever Cotton wants to do to amuse himself, Cotton usually gets to do. After all, he is nicknamed “HRH,” His Royal Highness by one of his favorite stroller drivers.

And just before this update goes to press, guess which lucky boy was able to get outside for a stroller ride? Yes, Cotton, His Royal Highness. All is “right” in his world again.

In medical news, Cotton didn’t have the greatest of months. He had a week or so of chronic vomiting and our vet team started him on anti-nausea medication. He lost a bit of weight, but his blood and urine tests showed nothing out of the ordinary.

By the end of February, he was starting to feel much better when he rubbed his one rear limb so that the skin split and began bleeding. Poor Cotton! We are keeping his hind nubs covered with his special socks while the wound heals. It hasn’t slowed him down. Nothing slows Cotton down.

Cotton and all of us at Tabby’s Place thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you do for him. You are the wind beneath his wings, and thanks to you, he is soaring. We wish you a glorious beginning of spring.  Stay well.

Donna
