Happy 2018 to Cisco’s sponsors!

Our adorable Cisco had another birthday! All of the kitties at Tabby’s Place become a year older on January 1st of the new year, and 2018 marks Cisco’s fourteenth birthday. Happy Birthday sweet boy!

2018 has been quite a year already. Who ever heard of bombogenesis before this January?
“Bombogenesis is a popular term that describes a midlatitude cyclone that rapidly intensifies.” And intensify it did, bringing us lots of snow and bitter cold for weeks on end!

It was so cold that the solarium-lovers like Cisco have had to make a big adjustment – the solaria are officially closed until the world warms up. With temperatures in Ringoes forecast to be below zero, we needed to protect solarium-stubborn cats from the cold (and we know better than to trust them not to venture out themselves!).

There’s been a slight reorganization in the FIV suite; and that is, Amos has been moved to the FIV suite extension, better known as Tabby’s Place Executive Director’s office. What a lucky boy he is. This also means Cisco will likely be getting a new suitemate soon.

There’s no medical news for our favorite curmudgeon, who rings in 2018 in good health. We are seeing more evidence of Cisco becoming a little less curmudgeonly. He seems to respond to my voice and he is not shying away when a treat is put down very close to him. This is huge progress, as just a short time ago, one might have gotten a light ‘slap’ on the hand for the very same thing. Slow progress, but each time builds a little more trust, and that is a wonderful thing.
