Happy Summer fellow Cisco adorers! It has most definitely arrived here in Ringoes.
Some days, it has been so warm that the solarium has not a soul in it, well, kind of, sort of. There’s the in between enclosed walkway between the inside of suite FIV and the solarium, and that’s where Cisco was hanging out on a 90+ degree day in early July. Even the offer of a treat
wouldn’t tempt him to leave his primo spot. From here, Cisco was able to watch all the hallway activity from the comfort of his plexiglass safe zone. In the picture below, newcomer Rufus is in the foreground (as he is in life!) and Cisco is in the shadow behind him.

This was a busy month in Suite FIV. Cisco welcomed two new roommates, Wilbur and Rufus. Wilbur is so gentle and mellow, he melted easily into the Suite FIV social structure. Rufus, although very sweet, was a bit overwhelmed by all the hubbub around him. But fear not, as Rufus was scooped up by a forever family before you could say ‘boo!’ Our big boy Wolfie was declared ringworm-free and is ecstatic to be back in his beloved solarium and suite.

We’re monitoring our grizzled diabetic closely this summer. Cisco lost, then regained, some weight, and was noted to be drinking and urinating excessively. Bloodwork showed his fructosamine level to be slightly elevated, albeit not enough to adjust his insulin dose just yet. We will continue weighing Cisco weekly, as weight loss can indicate high blood glucose levels.
