Update for Cisco

Greetings Cisco sponsors,

Happy March and the promise of spring to you! As in much of life, timing is everything. On a recent visit with the guys and gals of suite FIV, Cisco was resting near the bottom of the ramp that leads up to the great outdoors (solarium). He seemed rather content and responded well to my voice. As I moved the step ladder nearer to Cisco, his sweet suitemate Buddy had a visit from one of the staff. He had an appointment somewhere else in the sanctuary. Well, this caused quite a stir in the suite, as everyone thought they were being sequestered. Our boy Cisco, hissed his way to safety.

This did not leave Cisco receptive to another human bean, yours truly, at least for the next several minutes. But miracles do happen and he calmed down and became approachable. He thought about taking a treat from my finger tips but decided it just wasn’t worth the risk! We’ll try again next time.

The recent wonderful news in suite FIV is that Buddy has been adopted! A delightful family has fallen in love with our gentle boy and has taken him to his forever home a few days ago. Yay for Buddy! He is one sweet and extremely friendly gentle soul, who will most certainly thrive in his new home.

On the medical front, our stoic senior has been heard wheezing this month. Our vet team sedated him for a physical exam, since Cisco’s not the most cooperative patient. They discovered some abnormalities in the back of Cisco’s throat. Fortunately, a biopsy revealed these to simply be inflammatory rather than cancerous. Cisco received a steroid injection to reduce the inflammation. While he was out, our vet team also groomed him thoroughly, a task he’s been a bit slack about doing for himself!

Cisco is a very lucky kitty to have your love and support. He and everyone at Tabby’s Place thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making his world so much brighter.
