Happy May, team Cisco!

I hope you are doing marvelously.

“Marvelous” is Cisco’s evaluation of the menu in Suite FIV these days. As you’ll recall, last month the whole Suite got a reprieve from the dastardly diet they’d been (reluctantly) eating. When gastrointestinally-challenged comrades Bucky and Stormie‘s issues improved, the whole suite was able to switch to a more palatable (albeit still prescription) chow.

In a few days, that situation will get even sweeter. Bucky and Stormie are being adopted, together, to a stellar barn home. We are ecstatic for the boys. Both Stormie and Bucky are truly feral, and, honestly, they have been miserable at Tabby’s Place. With a shy cat like Amos — or Cisco, for that matter — we’re able to work our gentle magic of helping them feel content and “at home.” But with seriously feral felines like Bucky and Stormie, the indoor life never fits.

So it’s the best possible outcome for these anxious boys to find a safe, yet still outdoor, home together. Their new family will care diligently for them, vigilantly monitoring the cats for any signs of infection. Stormie and Bucky will continue to be fed their more-palatable prescription food…

…and Cisco and friends will be back on totally tasty, non-medical food.

As if that weren’t good news enough, Cisco’s also had a super month when it comes to companions. Suite FIV has long been a collective of cats who loooooove each other. In his early days here, Cisco didn’t quite fit in. While his neighbors cuddled and canoodled all the live-long day, Cisco himself kept to quiet corners, leerily eyeballing all others (of all species).

So it’s been a delight to step into Suite FIV and see Cisco snuggling — seriously snuggling — with well-chosen cuddlers like Chachi. Cisco’s still not quite sold on snuggling our own species, but we can only imagine these blooming friendships bode well for us, too.
