Update for Cheba

Update for Cheba

Another month, another update!

I’m very happy to report to you that our girl Cheba is doing great. On the medical front, Cheba continues to stay healthy, and she is not at all aggressive with the other cats.

As I’ve mentioned before, Cheba’s favorite pasttime is waiting patiently by the door of her suite and then quickly escaping whenever the door opens, before anyone can stop her! Usually, the person who opened the door goes running down the hall after her. We’ve now discovered that it confuses her if the person at the door just stops and watches her, rather than run after her. She stops and looks back as if to say, “Aren’t you going to chase me’”

Last week, Cheba and I had a blast during my visit. First of all, I was happy to see she and Miguel were getting along very well. Also, Cheba was in a very playful and loveable mood! She gave me a ton of attention.

Once I started petting her, she didn’t want me to stop. I must have petted her for 10 minutes straight, until my wrist started to hurt! 🙂 She was rolling around on her back for a while, all stretched out so that I could pet her belly. I think she said to me in kitty language, “I’ll give you an hour to stop that!”

After petting her like crazy, Cheba and I played a game. She loves that toy with the feather on the end. The only problem is, once you bring a toy in, all the other cats want to play, too.

I have to hand it to Cheba, though. She did not attempt to dominate the other cats when they wanted to play. She allowed the others to have fun and watched patiently from the sidelines.

Before I left Cheba, I shared with her a few good stories about some of the other cats at Tabby’s Place. When I told her she was my favorite, she winked at me! She’s a very good listener. 🙂
