So yes, my fellow kittens…it appears that spring has sprung at Tabby’s Place. I hear we already have some newborns, and I’m sure the Community Room will soon be filled with tiny trouble makers.
I am grateful for the Zen solace of the FIV+ suite. Although most of my suitemates are venturing back out into the spring-ish weather in our solarium, I much prefer a warm, snuggly bed inside. I graze on my dry food all day and watch the comings and goings of the humans and the lobby cats through the glass windows. I know the staff and volunteers think I’ll eat more wet food if they crate me to nosh before they give me my insulin. But, my favorite part of this ritual is the cuddles I receive between being plucked from my hover stance over the dry food bowl and being placed lovingly into a crate with that darn wet food I’m not so fond of. And I know they’re just trying to take the best care of me that they can.
My scribe always hangs out in our suite for a while once she’s fed us, and last week she noticed my dear friend Mona, the only girl in fabulous FIV+ land, getting in touch with her more dainty side… She was eating her wet food with her paw, bringing a little to her mouth each time she dipped her paw in her little paper boat. We agreed this was just too cute to not include a video of it in this month’s update.
Here’s hoping that spring will fully kick in soon. Perhaps, along with visiting the inevitable adorable new kittens, folks will come visit me and Mona and all the rest of our FIV+ buddies here in our suite. I’d love nothing more than to meet you, so if you haven’t met me in person (cat) yet, please come see me! I’ll be watching out my window for you!
Thank you for all that you do for me!
Peace, love, and purrs,
Charlie
