Update for Charlie

Dear friends,

It’s me…your friend, Charlie. How is everyone doing? I am doing well, and I am resting on my big, human (Charlie) bed, as usual, as I write to you. I can see everything from up here, and I like to watch over the scooting cats and the dogs.

My momma has been worried about my sister, Jude, for a few days now. I’m not sure what’s going on, but Jude has not been scooting around the bedroom for a few days. She is mostly in her playpen unless momma is holding her. Jude has something called hydrocephalus, and in the past, she has had things called seizures, but she had been doing very well.

A few days ago, Jude went to get an operation, something momma called a spay. When Jude came home from surgery, she started having huge seizures. Momma stayed up all night giving her medicine, and I could tell momma was very worried.  I really hope my sister, Jude, will be OK. I really like her, she’s always nice to me. Momma says Jude is slowly getting better, so that makes me happy. I want her scooting around the bedroom again, and I don’t like seeing my momma sad and stressed.

The other day, momma opened the closet for a minute, and while she wasn’t looking I jumped in. I settled down for a nap and fell fast asleep. A little while later, I heard momma calling my name. I waited. I could hear momma walking around calling me and calling me. I waited. She left the bedroom, and I could hear her calling my name through the house. I waited some more. After a few more minutes she opened the closet and found me. She was soooooo happy! She picked me up and hugged me tightly. I don’t really know why. I hadn’t been gone long, and I was only in the closet.

Do you want to know something cool? On momma’s birthday, I get gifts! How cool is that!? I got this really comfy cat bed. It’s called an orth…a…pedic, or some weird word, bed. I can tell you it’s unbelievably comfortable. I sleep in my new bed a lot; it’s like sleeping in a hug.

Momma hasn’t been pricking my ear as much lately, which I appreciate. She still does it every few days, but that’s better than twice a day, which was happening for a while. Momma says my blood glucose levels are much better lately. I’m just happy to have fewer ear pricks.

I should go now, it’s my nap time. Thank you for being my friend, and thank you for your support, and for listening to my stories.

Your pal,
Charlie
