Update for Charlie

Dear friends,

Oh boy, oh boy.. I got my very first Christmas gift! I don’t know who it was from, but some kind person came to Tabby’s Place and left a gift for me. It was wrapped, so I need a little help from Momma to get it open, but when we opened it up it had some new toys inside. I love it! I’ve never had my very own Christmas gift. I feel so special. Momma told me Santa Paws will be coming soon to bring me even more gifts. I’m so excited! This is my first Christmas in my own home. Is Santa Paws a nice guy? I think he must be; after all he brings all the animals new toys and treats. Sounds like fun to me!

I’ve been much better lately, and feel back to my normal self. Momma says I still have to go back to the hospital soon to have my, what is it?…… “hyperthyroid” fixed. Momma says I have to stay in the hospital for a few days when they fix that. I’m not looking forward to that, but I know I’ll go home to Momma when it’s over. The doctors said I needed to get healthy again before we do that, so I’m thinking that will be soon, because I feel really good.
My insulin needs have been what momma called inconsistent (??), whatever that means. All I know is she is poking my ear every morning and evening, so she can do a blood glucose test. I’m not a fan of that, so I usually repeat one of my favorite lines from a Christmas movie called The Family Stone — “Mom, could you not?” The only good thing about it is snuggle time. Right after Momma does my poking test she pulls me onto her lap, and we snuggle. I like that a lot!

I haven’t been going out onto my screened solarium; the door is always closed now. Momma says it’s too cold outside, and she wants me to stay warm. I’m ok with that, as I am very happy and content to snuggle on my huge human bed, and stay nice and warm.

There’s a plastic tree in our living room, and it has lights and hanging things on it. How weird is that!? I’ve never seen one of these things before, but Momma seems to like it. Maybe I’ll pee on it when she’s not looking.

The scooting cats are doing ok, still a little annoying, but ok. I wonder if Santa Paws will bring them gifts too? I’m guessing he probably will, but if he doesn’t I will share mine with them. After all, they are my family now.

Well I should go for now, it’s my nap time. Thank you all for being my friend, and I hope Santa Paws bring you all lots of wonderful things.

Your pal,

Charlie
