Update for Charlie

Oh glory be, my beloved sponsors!

The sunny days of May are upon us. Tabby’s Place is abuzz with bottle babies and a newly designated “kitten room,” and all our staff and volunteers are singing the tunes of Spring. Although I continue to mystify folks by my dedication to staying inside, I hear there’s quite a party going on in the FIV+ solarium these days. I prefer climate-controlled comfort after my rough and tumble junkyard days as a community cat on the streets. I’ve had more than enough outside time in my past, and now I’m cherishing every moment of my cuddly life as an indoor cat.

Plus, with most of my suitemates outdoors, I get most of the fuzzy beds inside all to myself. My biggest decision each day is which one to snooze in next — at least, until one of my many human visitors pops in and sits on the floor. Well, then all you see is a blue-grey blur of fur whizzing by as I leap decidedly into the human’s lap.

Today, my scribe and I had a marathon snuggling session. I honestly don’t know who enjoyed it more. I was purring and rubbing my face all over her hands and arms. We’re posting a few pictures for evidence of this joyful love-fest. She just petted me for what felt like hours as I buried my head in her hands. It’s never too much for me! I love every second!

I wish I had a human to live with who would cuddle me all day every day, but until that day comes, I have lots of friends here at Tabby’s Place who give me tons of love and attention. My health reports have all been good this month, and I have much to be grateful for. Most importantly, I have sponsors like you that help fund my extra special care here.
I am sending out all the love in my furry heart, and I wish you the most beautiful Spring of Springs.

My scribe was telling me how she can’t wait for all the farmers’ markets to open soon. All that beautiful local produce is what makes her happiest this time of year. I, for one, am more than happy with my consistent diet of my beloved dry food. Some days, my wet food is even enjoyable. We cats are more creatures of routine and consistency when it comes to food. We’re not big seasonal eaters, nor fans of the farm-to-table movement. I’d take snuggles over a Jersey tomato any day! But hey, in the spirit of Spring, try cooking up a new vegetable that you’ve never tasted before, and then come tell me all about it while you’re petting me in your lap. Is it a deal?

Peace, love, and purrs…

Charlie
