Update for Charlie

Update for Charlie

My dear dudettes and dudes!

I’m told it is April, but alas, it doesn’t feel that way here in Ringoes, NJ. We had yet another major

snowstorm last week! But we kitties and our beloved humans are ever hopeful that the Spring sunshine will, in fact, arrive. I’m

waiting for that warmth to spread across the solarium so I can spend some lazy time napping outside in one of our cozy beds. I love to

snooze while I listen to the birds chirping, the bees buzzing, and — if I listen very closely — I can almost hear the flowers popping into

bloom!

I hope you are enjoying your April wherever you are, and that you know how much I love you. Your support means the world to me,

and I continue to receive the best care because of your generosity. I had my annual physical this month, including bloodwork. My

fabulous vet team learned that my blood glucose was still a bit high, so they adjusted my insulin dose accordingly. It’s an ongoing

battle for diabetic kitties like me, but all my buddies here at Tabby’s Place are on the job to make sure I stay as healthy as possible.

My urinary tract infection has cleared up (thankfully), which is awesome news. I also managed to communicate to my vet team that I have a a very painful tooth

in my mouth that needs to be extracted. I’ll be scheduled for that procedure this month, so wish me luck! I’m not worried at all,

’cause I know I’ll sleep through the whole thing and feel much better once it’s over.

I hope you enjoy the pictures I’m including with

my update this month. One shows my “triumphant” face — the one I exhibit after I’ve a made a beeline for my scribe’s lap and successfully

taken it over with my furry grey self before any of my roomies can attempt to hijack it. This time, I was in competition with my roomie

Lester, who was in hot pursuit of my scribe’s lap as soon as she sat on the floor. But I managed to move fast enough to gently push him

out of the way in time. I may be a somewhat lazy boy, but I can sure boogie when there’s a lap at stake! My scribe of course gave Lester

some pets and attention while she was chatting with me, but her lap was all mine. Ha!

The other picture I’m including shows the view

looking down upon my favorite lap-hogging position. If my visitor is sitting with her legs crossed on the floor, I tend to angle myself across

one leg all the way from my visitor’s hip to her knee. This is a quite scientific move on my part, because I believe it allows more of

me to be petted at once than if I was all squished in the middle of a lap. Clearly, I give these important matters a lot of thought! Until next

month…

Peace, love, and purrs,

Charlie
