Update for Charlie

Greetings, sponsor friends.

So I’m wondering if you have ever heard of a television show from the 1980s called “Charles in Charge”? Well apparently, my scribe was a teen fan and has taken to singing the theme song to me each time she visits. If you’ve never heard it, or if you’re in need of a new annoying tune in your head, click here.

Of course, I forgive her, both for bringing that cheesy theme into my kitty brain, but mostly for her singing voice. She says herself that there’s a reason she works in computers and not in show business!

Anyway, according to my monthly medical report, I’ve been quite an unpredictable member of the dazzling diabetic crew at Tabby’s Place. Typically, if a cat’s blood glucose (BG) is running high, a key symptom will be weight loss. However, my BG has been quite high this month…but I’ve only continued to gain weight. For me, it’s all about that kitty bass.

If I’m not mistaken, I’ve overheard our veterinary staff lovingly compare me to a significantly enormous grey mammal in the ocean that rhymes with “pale”. Luckily for me, everyone here adores me exactly how I am, and they only keep track of my weight to ensure my health. They’ve increased my insulin dosage, and they’ll continue to monitor me closely.

As the summer wanes here in the FIV+ Suite, we’ve welcomed a new beautiful little girl named Adelaide. She came to us via our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, and she is as sweet as can be. She lounges outside in the solarium along with most of my fellow FIV folks, although I’m still spending my days inside. Perhaps as autumn creeps in and the temperature drops, I will venture outside more. But no matter who’s where in FIV-land, my scribe would of course say that I, Charlie, am in charge!

Thank you for all you do to keep me happy, healthy, and in charge!

Peace, love, and purrs,
Charlie
