Dear Carrot Friend,
Carrot had a busy month! He did his usual visits to the senior homes and loved every minute of it. Except for one time he went to visit the seniors, he had on a harness that was a little too tight for him, so by the time he got back home to Tabby’s Place, he was kinda cranky. We have fixed his harness now, so that doesn’t happen again. Otherwise, he had a great month visiting his friends in the senior homes, and the seniors always love to see Carrot, of course.

This month Carrot started a different adventure, which is being a therapy cat for breast cancer survivors through a group called Evolve Pink. The group meets weekly and conducts various feel-good activities for the ladies. Now once a month is Whisker Wednesday Pet Therapy night, and Carrot was the first one to go and try it out. Gentle girl, Pepita, also joined Carrot on the first therapy night, and it was a huge success.
As soon as the cats got into the room, and were released from their carriers, Carrot jumped up on the couch and stretched out. He flirted with the ladies and made himself very comfortable on the couch (see attached picture). Pepita wasn’t quite ready to be as relaxed as Carrot, but she did explore the room and visit with the ladies all night. The ladies in the group absolutely LOVED having Carrot and Pepita be part of their therapy group, and they can’t wait until the next visit. The ladies have requested Carrot come back again next time, and I think he will be very willing to go and lie on the couch for the night. Carrot was born to be a therapy cat, as he is incredibly outgoing, super sweet, and loves lots of attention. I am so glad Carrot can bring so much joy to so many people. When it was time to go back into his carrier and leave the therapy night, Carrot did not want to leave! He wanted to stay with the ladies, and I think they would have let him stay too.
In medical news, Carrot had some swelling around his nipple, but that seems to be resolved, and his calcium medications were decreased at the beginning of the month. A recheck of his levels showed that he is responding well to the lower dose.
There have been many comings and goings in Carrot’s suite. Gator has been out of the room for a few weeks now. Gator had not been feeling well and ended up at the emergency hospital. He is doing a little better now and is back at Tabby’s Place, but he is still not ready to go back into the suite. There are 2 new cats in Carrot’s suite, Cassie and Chicken Salad. Carrot hasn’t met them yet because they are brand new to his room, so they are still in a crate while we introduce them. They both seem like nice girls, so hopefully, they will get along with all the cats.
Carrot and his friends continue to enjoy solarium time, even when it is over 90 degrees outside! Not much can make those guys want to leave the solarium.
That’s all the Carrot news for now. As always, thank you so much for your support of Carrot. By supporting Carrot you are also supporting all the good Carrot is bringing to the world, and that’s pretty special.
