Update for Carrot

Dear Carrot friends,

What a crazy Spring we are having…. hot, cold, raining, warm, storms, chilly, and back to warm again. Most of the cats who use the solariums are dizzy from not knowing if they want to be inside or outside! The crazy weather doesn’t seem to affect Carrot, he just wants to be outside. I haven’t seen Carrot inside for weeks now. He would have made a great outdoor cat. Although, even though he’s outside in the solarium, he still loves his creature comforts, a nice soft bed to lounge on, toys to play with, and breakfast and dinner served right on time.

As soon as I go to visit Carrot and his friends, Carrot rolls over and reaches for me with his paw. Then he closes his eyes and starts to purr, sometimes even before I actually start petting him. Carrot gets so much love and pets at Tabby’s Place, he knows what’s coming. He knows we all adore him, and we all can’t wait to smoosh and kiss him.
Carrot is one of the only cats who will do “the baby.” He lets me hold him in my arms, on his back, like holding a baby. We walk around the solarium like that, and he relaxes into my arms. I walk him over to the fence, so we can watch the birds together, and feel the breeze on our skin and fur. It’s very peaceful and relaxing.

Carrot still hangs out with Sparkly most of the time, although when people are around, Sparkly will get a little nervous, and she often takes refuge at the top of the ramp for a while. From there she can still see everything that is going on, but she is out of the reach of humans. Of course, our Carrot is never going to run and hide when a person is around. He might miss out on some attention, so he doesn’t follow his friend when she needs some space. When it’s quiet in the solariums and nearby area, Sparkly will happily come down and hang out with her friend, Carrot.

Inside suite C (Carrot’s suite) there have been some grumblings and rumblings. Tough boy, Archer, is trying to keep his top cat status, while tough boy wannabees, like Dudley and Snoop, are challenging him for the title. I was in their suite the other day when they all decided to start chasing and smacking each other. I sent them all to opposite corners to calm down and stayed in there until I was sure the quarrel was over. I don’t blame Carrot for hanging outside where it’s nice and peaceful.

No medical news for Carrot, which is always great news! Our Carrot is also maintaining a good, healthy weight. Carrot is healthy, happy and loved, thanks to you. Thank you all for helping us to keep Carrot in the best of health, and provide him with a happy and safe home.
