Dear Carrot friends,
It has been another wonderful month for our traveling therapy boy. Carrot is getting used to putting on his diaper and harness, getting into his carriage, and heading off to the nursing home to see his friends. He was born for this role and he loves every minute of it. He’s confident, he’s outgoing, and he loves all the attention. He also doesn’t mind the car ride to and from the nursing home. He just sits quietly in his carrier, waiting to get wherever the car takes him.
At the nursing home he goes into therapy cat mode, walking around to visit everyone, sitting on laps, and even sitting on the table so he can be surrounded by people. He plays the part perfectly, and the residents benefit so much from his visit. It adds a ray of sunshine to their day, and I’m sure some of them are reminiscing about their former pets and enjoying being able to pet and hold Carrot for a while.
This time Carrot and Rose went together to the nursing home, so they could make sure all the residents got lots of kitty love. Rose is just as outgoing as Carrot, so they make the perfect combo.
I am so happy that Carrot, Rose, and other Tabby’s Place cats get to participate in this program, and bring happiness to others in our community.
Carrot is still enjoying his solarium time, along with all his friends. One of our volunteers said our Carrot gets jealous when they are paying attention to the other cats in his solarium. Apparently someone was giving Stella attention and Carrot did not like that. He sure is an attention hog.
Another volunteer went into solarium C to spend time with Carrot and friends. She sat down, and the minute she was comfy Carrot climbed up on her chest, did his best cat loaf, and started his loud purr. After a few minutes, Faye came over to see what was going on and decided to join in the love fest. Faye curled up next to the volunteer, and enjoyed some pets. In the meantime, Carrot fell asleep. The volunteer stayed there as long as she could, and felt bad when she had to move them. Our volunteers are the best, and really give the cats so much love and attention.
That’s all the Carrot news for now. As always, thank you all for your continued support of Carrot! By supporting Carrot you are also helping support Aged to Purrfection, our senior program, which makes so many seniors smile. It doesn’t get any better than that.
