It may be getting a little cooler outside, but that is not stopping Carrot and friends from enjoying the last of the nice days in their solarium. In another month or so, it will be too cold for some of the Carrot squad to be outside, but for now the party is still on.
Every week, I think Carrot finds a new friend to bring outside and make a part of Team Carrot. This time, the new friend is Bud, a very gentle orange and white guy, just like our Carrot. Bud can be a little timid, so I think he likes the easygoing cats that tend to hang out in the solarium. Carrot, of course, welcomed Bud right away, and was happy to have another friend.
Carrot’s legendary “cat-taming” does not stop at easy-going Bud, though, as onetime brawler Valentino can now be found keeping calm company with Carrot and friends. I have no idea how Carrot does it! I really wish we knew what he did to make the cats love him, even cats who have been previously known to be bullies. Whatever it is that Carrot does, we need to bottle it, but Carrot is keeping his secrets to himself.
Carrot did come in from the solarium for one very special occasion, however. A pair of sponsors made a special visit to Tabby’s Place on a date that was of great personal importance to them. As a friend took photographs of the couple in the lobby, their beloved Carrot emerged through the tube into Suite B, entering the photo behind them. Since Carrot so rarely ventures indoors when the weather is nice (as it was on that day), we all took it as a special “gift” to our visitors.
I got my camera out, thinking, “I must get some photos of this; Carrot’s friends would like to see this!” Don’t you know, every single time I pointed the camera at them they stopped and stared at me! I would put the camera down, and off they would go again, full wrestle, full play. Up comes the camera again…everything stops and they stare at me. How do they know!?!?
Luckily, one of our wonderful volunteers was in the solarium too, and while she couldn’t get the wrestling photos (they did the same thing to her) she did get some nice photos of Carrot, Steven and Chelsea to share with you.
Don’t worry; with all Carrot’s new friends, he hasn’t forgotten about Spumoni. I think they will always be BFF’s, and they spend a lot of time together, usually snuggling.
That’s all the Carrot news for now. As always, thank you for your generosity! We could not do this without you. Because of you, Carrot and his whole team of friends have somewhere safe to play, wrestle and snuggle.
