It has been another great month for Carrot. Then again, if you’re Carrot, all days, weeks and months are good. Even a bout of diarrhea didn’t slow our boy down. He had to take medicine for a few days, but he tolerated it all in stride.
Carrot has added another friend to his ever growing list: Steven. I saw the two of them circling each other in the suite the other day. Staff member Jane was concerned at first, and she was ready to run into the suite and break it up. I told her to wait a minute and just watch. I knew what was going to happen…the same thing that always happens when Carrot is involved.
The cats circled each other, they poked each other with their paws, some more circling, and then…pounce! They were wrestling and rolling around, having a wonderful time. I have learned that, when Carrot is involved, there will not be a fight. He doesn’t know how to fight, and he doesn’t need to know. With his special gift of making everyone love him, it’s not something he ever needs to know.
Suite B is still the party suite. There is more playtime there than any other room at Tabby’s Place. Cats are running up ramps, jumping off ramps, wrestling, and fun, fun, fun!
The other day, I was doing morning medications in the suites when I heard an eruption of banging, thumping and crashing noises. It didn’t sound good, and it was coming from Suite B. I went running down the hallway, thinking a horrible fight was underway. I should have known better. It was not a fight, but it was complete chaos.
Carrot also knows how relax and enjoy some mushy time. He has many human friends who spend time with him, he gives great hugs, and you can even carry him around like a baby (I’ve done it many times). He also has mushy time with his feline friends, and is often seen snuggled up with Spumoni, Chelsea, Todd, or one of his other buddies. Carrot has certainly been a wonderful addition to suite B, which didn’t have nearly as much fun before his arrival.
I think the only thing Carrot does not like is when it’s time to express his bladder. He still fights that every step of the way, and is the most difficult cat at Tabby’s Place to express. He squirms, he rolls, he jumps around, and he makes it very difficult. The staff often has to go back two or three times to get his bladder totally empty.
But if that’s his worst fault, we can count ourselves very lucky, because Carrot is a wonderful, happy boy who brings sunshine to all around him.
Thank you for supporting our fun-loving party boy. Because of you, he has all the medical care he could ever need and a room full of friends to play with. But if he ever asks you to sneak him and his friends some beer into “the frat house,” just say no. 🙂
